I've had a real high fever over the weekend so one, can a fever induce maybe a past arrhythmia or just bring one about? Secondly, I am not sure if it is just a spasm in my neck or chest making me think it is an arrhythmia but it feels like a fluttering a little bit and also if l feel my chest, and this is the part I am wondering if everyone has, I will breathe in regularly without thinking and my heart will do one big thud outside of the lub dup, but it will do it a few times in a row and then not for one or two full beats and start again so does this just occur with regular breathing when your exhaling, the lack of inhaled air for a second makes your heart pause?
l had a heart episode when l was younger, just racing/tachycardia l guess and they monitored me and l was fine. Then in an anatomy class l got monitored for an assignment and we actually saw an odd thing on the monitor so l do not know if it is just one l live with or what. l hate to go to the doctor and get checked again when they said l was fine and it was just an episode, I will look like a hypochondriac (which l am :P) and it may be silly. l checked my wrist and it is normal but the fluttering in my chest subsided too so l can not tell accurately what is going on, Gahh! first call your doctor in the morning. second, you can take your pulse just above your wrist by your thumb and feel the beats of your heart there instead of your chest, because if it is muscle spasms in your chest it could feel like an irregular heartbeat.

l have a heart condition ( pulmonary stenosis) so l am not sure how a normal heart beats, but it does not sound like yours is acting normal. You should have it checked out, but it is possible that the fever has something to do with it.

It is called palpitations, and quite common, and yes even a little lack of oxygen can cause it, smokers know it well, anxiety can cause it, but an arrhythmia will cause everything from dizzyiness to death, but you sound like you had a normal episode we all have at one time or another.

A high fever can be a result of a virus & a virus can settle in ur heart & cause damage & arrhythmia. You should call ur doctor & let them know what is going on & schedule an appointment. The thud u r talking about is called a premature heart beat, which means that the heart beat follows too closely to the preceding beat. This actually is fairly common, but can be cause for concern in some cases. The fluttering sensation is also part of this. Your doctor can do a EKG or echo cardiogram & also put u on a portable heart monitor if he feels it is necessary.
