If you already have high blood pressure, you should stick to a low sodium diet. Otherwise, it will worsen chronic hypertension.

You need to read the labels. A lot of soup is high in sodium. Soup is good for you, but just watch the brands you buy and the ingredients.

Yeah lots of salt (like a bag of salty pretzels) will raise your blood pressure and give you a headache. However soups and other foods with salt in it are fine, just avoid mass amounts of it in one sitting.
