l was told by my cardiologist that l have PVC is and that the only thing that he is concerned about with me was that, l have more than the average person with pvc's.Am l at higher risk for a heart attack at an earlier age?l do not have medical insurance and l can not just walk into a doctors office and get a halter monitor whenever l feel the need. l can feel my pvc is when they contract and the contractions are becoming much harder (l feel more of a thump in my chest), should l be concerned?

According to Emedicine PVC is in young, healthy adults r not associated with increased mortality (Ref 2). However, as u age, ur chances of a cardiac event, & mortality increase with this disease.

The severity of the disease is usually measured by the frequency of ur PVC events, & the grade (Lown classification, see Ref 3).

l would recommend seeing a doctor to manage ur condition with a beta-blocker (taken regularly). If this is not managing ur condition well, perhaps a combination therapy of beta-blocker plus magnesium sulfate & calcium channel blockers. l would discuss treatment with a doctor. If u have no insurance, there r a variety of online pharmacies available that might be cheaper. (If u can afford it, get the real deal. If u can not, online is better than nothing. It is ur life we're talking about!)

The average blood pressure is about 120/80. They have done studies, & found that an optimal systolic blood pressure is even lower at 115 (generally, the lower the better due to decreased pressure/stress on blood vessels). l suspect the same goes for ur condition of PVCs. If beta-blockers will help reduce the long-term damage/stress on ur heart tissue, u will live a longer life.
