To Mrs. Doubtfire. and all others, Sorry about not giving more info. I will be 51 next month, and my family use the same monitor (It is a Reli-On Digital Manual ) monitor. Anyway,Their readings are normal. l get readings anywhere from 132/39 pulse 83 to high as 155/47 pulse103. l did have a problem with Edema in BOTH feet and legs a few weeks ago, But not anymore.l can feel a hard lump in my stomach at and just below my navel, l know that I am going to have to go to the doctor, But l appreciate everybody is help . The bottom number is very low. The top number slighlty high.

Nope:):) l have a feeling something was wrong when you were taking the BP. try it again and try it on different times of the day in different days. then let us know if 39 changed to something around 80 or 90.

looks like a bad reading.the 39 is way too low to be right.

132 systolic is a teensy bit high but nothing to worry about. If u had a diastolic of 39 though l doubt you'd be alive right now or in a state to talk about it. l think you've either misheard that number or someone very incompetent took ur blood pressure.

Adding on from the extra info you've given - definitely getting the lump checked out is a good idea. Knowing that you're using a home monitor, check with ur doctor when u see him/her that you're a) putting the cuff on correctly & b) using an appropriately sized cuff, as these two variables can affect the accuracy of ur readings & may account for the massive fluctuations & very low diastolic readings you've attained. You've omitted the only vital point.. how old r you?
And what is ur pulse rate?
And when did u take the reading?

EDIT:- The range of ur systolic (the top one) pressure is completely as it should be - roughly (100 + ur age).. nothing wrong there.

Your pulse rates r not all that out of line with average, provided the high ones were with the highest of the systolics? Pulse rate & systolic pressures should usually rise together, when stress is present. -After a meal, for instance? Or exercise.
The diastolic (low one) seems very much lower than average but please do not confuse ''average'' with ''normal'' , in the way medical students, nurses, paramedics & so on, do. You can be very low in B/P readings (as children are) but perfectly NORMAL.
(The same applies to very high readings of course, - u can have higher than average readings yet be completely normal.)

What ur readings suggest is that either the monitor is unsuited to ur arm-size & thus giving erroneous readings, -or that there really is some factor which is lowering ur diastolic (or more accurately, ur arterial 'mean' pressure , which is what really counts). It could be either, & should be manually checked.

But bear in mind that monitors accurately only reflect CHANGES in B/P not real arterial pressure.

So, yes, it is pretty essential that u get ur doctor to verify these figures.
And the 'lump' u describe, of course, is vastly more important than DIY B/.P measurements. Good luck.
