l was at the store and decided to take my blood pressure. It is normally about 109/65, but l took it and it read 100/41! l got pretty nervous about that last number and took it again about 5 minutes later and it was 110/67. l know those blood pressure machines at the stores are not always the most accurate.I am also vegan--l do not eat meat or dairy and I am thin so l do not have very high blood pressure to begin with, but 40 was a kind of scary number. Could it have just been a mistake? l feel fine except for the tiny panic attack l had from seeing that!

as you said those mechines arent very accurate so you probably just got a bad reading but for blood pressure to be that low dont worry as long as you feel fine there shouldnt be a problem. my B/P is almost always 90/52, my pulse is only like 58 and my breathing is low too and l live a very active life and feel fine just some days im more tired than others. if your that worried go to your doc and tell them

l had to do a long research project for school with blood pressure measurements (and various biofeed back equipment) & we found out fairly early on that the wrist devices r completely useless for gathering data unless u make sure all measurements r taken in the exact same position. Sometimes someone just moving their arm to the side or up a little bit actually changed their blood pressure a lot.
It is most likely that, but it is also possible that ur heart rate just temporarily dropped (which also drops blood pressure). Neither of those r bad.
There r a few weird things which can also cause low blood pressure (ie. being cut open & bleeding a lot), but none of those apply to you, so l am pretty sure that it was just the machine being dumb. Most of the things which cause ''real'' low blood pressure also result in ur fainting or colapsing & feeling dizzy which did not happen in ur case, so there is at least a 95% chance it is completely fine & u have nothing at all to worry about!

*one additional detail. Increased sympathetic nervous system activity (which triggers from stress or u getting ''pretty nervous''), can cause blood pressure to rise dramatically (increases heart rate & constricts blood vessels). To some degree ur result probably came from the BP monitor being innaccurate, but it is also extremely plausible the subsequent rise u got in 5 minutes was from feeling stressed.

monitor you bp for 2 weeks and take the results to the doctor. drink more water and less caffeine.
