About a week ago l began feeling some small chest pains on the left side of my chest, that have been recurring. l remember a friend saying that it could be signs of a heart attack. Upon further research l read that signs of heart attack are things like lightheadedness, and shortness of breath (l am not experiencing any other sort of pain in my arm/jaw/neck). l am breathing ok, not really having difficulty, but do feel a shortness, or rather a kind of tightness in my throat, and l have been feeling lightheaded to points where l frighten myself and my heart starts pounding. However, l am not sure if it is because I am just scaring myself. l did not feel the lightheadedness and shortness of breath until l read about it, which might have scared me into having both of those symptoms (when l get scared l feel lightheaded and shortness of breath usually) l am very easily scared, and l have feared something like a heart attack for a while, so am l just scaring myself or am l in trouble?
Also, l have been a rather healthy person, l attempt to eat right, exercise often, and doctors have always said that l have great blood pressure and whatnot. l do not believe l have any family history of heart disease either.

It would be wise to check with a doctor about ur chest pains & the tightness in ur throat. You may have a blockage in one of the arteries in ur heart & may be experiencing angina. Your doctor can give u further information but, yes, u should certainly check it out. Try not to become terribly anxious about this although that is sometimes easier said than done. You do not have to have any symptoms at all to experience a heart attack - sometimes people have mild ''heart attacks'' & do not know it until they have an EKG run. And there r several symptoms that r quite common - such as pain, sweating, vomiting, tightness in the throat or jaw, pain in the left arm, etc. Please remain as calm as possible & just check with ur doctor as soon as u can. Usually if u tell ur doctor u r experiencing chest pain, u will be seen immediately.

From your history it sounds much more like anxiety than heart problems. You should go and see your doctor to confirm though

From the information it appears you are overtly anxious. Try and monitor your blood pressure/cholesterol and weight regularly at home.
