Okay, my neice was just born with 1 lung and a heart problem that is her heart is backwards. She pumps out of the arteries she is supposed to pump into the heart with. Her heart is also on the right where her lung is missing from. Her hand has webs and she is a premie by 1 month too early. We are praying for her but l wanna send my sisiter the best news l can. She is on life support at Boston General in Boston Mass. What my question is is this...... What web sight would have info on her rare condition and also where would l find the best DR in his or her field to operate on my neices heart??????

This condition is called ''Transposition of the Great Arteries''. Do a google search and look for sites from reputable sources like hospitals and university medical schools.

You will need to find a good paediatric cardiac surgeon to solve this problem. Good luck.

as far as a doctor to perform surgery i'm not sure i'm not going to say go here or go there and then you find a doc someone else thinks is great and him turn out to be a crappy one. l do wish you the best of Luck with this venture and l will be praying for your little neice.

This may be totally false ....but the last time l needed something that serious..... l typed the name Mayo Clinic in and went right there.....and started asking and got what l wanted....God Bless....and hope it works for you There is a great Senator''Frisk'' from Washington D.C. sorry l do not know what state he is from, maybe Tennessee That is what he did for about 20 years was children is hearts..if you can locate him ...he may be able to give you the best names

does she have transposition of the greater arteries? l would just type in her condition on the internet and take a look at what they have to offer. i'm sorry, this is about all the help l can give, and l know that this is a very rare condition.

yeah, its transposition of the great arteries. Not a very nice thing to have at all. My heart goes out to you. Definatly hit the mayo clinic, they will be able to help you and your niece.

As others have said, your neice has a serious congenital heart defect called Transposition of the Greater Arteries. If she is already in Boston, I'd recommend taking her to Boston Children's. They are one of the leading pediatric heart centers in the country. Your niece will need open heart surgery performed by a Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgeon.
