Angioplasty is probably the number 1 method of clearing out heart arteries. As with any procedure, there is an amount of risk; however, this procedure is so commonly performed nowadays that the odds are it will be successful without complication. Afterwards there will be drugs prescribed to keep the arteries ''clean''. Good luck.

just make sure you know the doctor and he has a lot of experience.i know doctors make mistakes too,,but. they just went in to check to see if my arteries were clogged and they missed and cracked my left coronary artery and caused open heart surgery..3 by-passes..just check out everything and dont be afraid to ask questions about everything!

Angioplasty / stenting - most effective, slightly risky
Dissolving clot with clot busters - slight risk
Anti platelet and anti thrombotic - less risk, less effective

All modalities have significantly higher benefit over risk. They are complimentary - one cannot replace the other. Anti platelets and anti thrombotics are required as adjunctive treatment for the other two modalities, to prevent recurrence.
