Eat little or no red meats, butter & fried foods. Eat lots of soybeans, linseeds (flaxseeds), fish, garlic, onions, oats, quinoa, fruit & veg & cook in rice bran oil. Exercise. A perfect daily diet: Breakfast: Organic rolled or steel cut oats with milk, linseed meal & manuka honey. Lunch: Quinoa & vegetable salad- quinoa, sauteed onions, carrot, celery, steamed brocoli, baby spinach leaves with a rice bran oil dressing. Dinner: Lightly steamed garlic & herb fish served with rice noodles & stir fried vegetables Dessert: Stewed apple served with biodynamic yoghurt & crushed almonds.

Hello,
(ANS) l was told by my GP & practice nurse that l had a slightly raised cholesterol level & that l needed to do something about it. l did not want to be put on Statins for the rest of my days.
**After doing some personal research on the internet l discovered that NUTS & especially ALMONDS can really help reduce cholesterol levels. You only need to eat a small handful each day according to what l read. This is what l am doing.

The one food l dont agree with from ur other is soy. It really is linked to breast cancer because it is a plant estrogen. If u r female, dont eat it. If u r male, l would look into any problems it may cause for you.
Aside from lowering the LDL, u want to increase HDL, the good cholesterol. Exercise & loosing weight increases this.
Plus, triglycerides r part of ur total cholesterol. That is fat that comes from carbohydrates. Cut back the sugar.
l watch my cholesterol, too, & its a real pain in the beep beep! Good luck!
