your pulse rate can be as low as 40 and it mean nothing other than you are really athletic. it will actually lengthen your life span.

Keep in mind that individual heart rates vary from person to person but the normally acceptable range for a healthy person is 60-100BPM. Athletes will usually have a lower heart rate. Personally, my heart rate ALWAYS runs about 110-130 BPM. This is normal for me. l have no cardiovascular problems & nothing to suggest a reason for this abnormality. l do however, smoke. This causes the heart to beat faster than normal. Caffiene also is a common cause of tachycardia (fast heart rate)
Try cutting back on caffiene & stop smoking if u do. l know saying that makes me a hypocrite, but im answering this in a medical capacity. not a personal one. Also, set yourself up with an excercise plan. Focus on cardiovascular exercises such & jogging, walking, bike riding. anything really that gets u moving. If u strengthen ur myocardium (heart muscle) it will pump more forcefully & push more blood out & into circulation at a time. This *should make ur pule slow down. It works for me.
Track ur pulse rate at consistent points throughout the day for about a month. Take that information to ur general care physician if ur heart continues to beat this way. Also, note how u feel when ur heart rate goes up. Are u dizzy? Anything out of the norm.
It could very well be that u will need either to have ur medication dosage lowered, or switch medications all together.

Heart rates tend to be rapid and weak before one has a heart attack - it is the bodies way of coping with the stress the heart is going under, it is firing off randomly to get as much blood through as possible.
Some people naturally have low heart rates if they are very fit.

A slow pulse reflects that the heart is able to provide ample blood supply to ur body tissues with a minimum of work. This really does not impact whether or not u will have a heart attack. Heart attack occurs when a clot or plaque in a coronary artery blocks blood flow to a portion of the heart, & that part of the heart muscle tissue dies. The heart does not stop beating.that is called cardiac arrest & usually does not occur with heart attack, although it can.
So, the answer to ur question is yes, u can.
