like, my heart and or lungs are hurting. l do not know which one. And last night my heart was beating irregularly and it felt like sharp knives were poking it. I am supposed to go to the doctors soon . Could it be stress related? My mom has heart problems ; could it be hereditary?

Yes. You did not say how old u were? If there is heart disease in the family & u r having pains like that go to the ER. You could have a blood clot or something may not be working properly with ur heart.

Irregular heartbeats may not mean anything on their own, as too much caffeine (coffee, pop, chocolate), stress & exhaustion can cause that too. But the sharp pains leave me wondering & if u did not do anything strenuous involving ur chest muscles (ie maybe a pinched nerve or pulled muscle) then go get checked out immediately.

l dont think that you should wait to see a doctor, if it hurts real bad go to ER, heart probs are taking seriously, especially if they run in the family.
