Okay, so about .. Umm 2 months ago l was diagnosed with a heart murmur. I am currently 14 years old, l can not play football till I am checked by the Cardiologist which is on the 28th of this month, but no lie, today .. l felt diffrent, something l have not felt for months! l ran and my heart beats were not going as fast they usually do, and l could catch my breath and l would not get lazy! Also l could sleep without getting bothered by my own heart rate. Could it be that my heart murmur could of left? It happened with my brother, dad, and grandmother aswell.
Note: I am still going to a cardiologist to get evaluated for my physical and to see if my heart murmur is not bad.
Thank you fellow answerers. For now l can do as much as activity as l want according to my doc. But l do not like risking my self or my life so l keep it to a limit. Actually ... Yes they do. My dad does not have a heart murmur, and my grandma who is 84 had one and it went away .. l was with her when the doctor said that it is gone

Probably not. But most heart mummers are not too much to worry about.

Heart murmurs do not ''go away''.
Sounds like your anxiety over this situation has lessened, now that you have an understanding of your condition.

Murmurs do not usually just disappear. Go get checked out and good luck. Maybe the diagnosis itself made you feel more at ease and not have so much anxiety about the issue. Good luck in football!!

Hi- l found this for you. l do not know ur diagnosis, so this may or may not be ur situation but it gives u some info anyhow. Hope it helps & all is OK with ur doctor appointment:)
The most common type of heart murmur is called functional or innocent. This diagnosis means the murmur is produced by a normal, healthy heart. It can come & go throughout childhood. It usually goes away on its own as the child gets older & does not pose any health threat.
Kids with innocent heart murmurs do not require a special diet, restriction of activities, or any other special treatment. They do not need to take a dose of antibiotic before going to the dentist. Those old enough to understand that they have a heart murmur should be reassured that they r not any different from other kids. In other words, an innocent murmur is the sound of normal blood moving through a normal heart in a normal way. A simple analogy is that just as we can sometimes hear the sound of air moving in an air duct, or water flowing through a plumbing pipe, we can often hear the sound of blood moving through the heart even if there is not a heart problem.

Actually..they can heal. Usually not that fast or sudden. But anything is possible. l know mine changed as it got bigger. l can look back and almost give you the dates my murmur ''ripped' or got bigger before it was found and repaired. :)

It is possible that it could close up on it is own, but in most cases they r not anything to worry about, every about 6mts to a year it is best to have it check on to make sure it is not getting any bigger or causing any other health problems. But u should be fine, but wait & get the ok from the Cardio. first. My son was born with a ASD (heart mumor) & he is 2 yrs old now, & it is still there but he is not having any problems with it so no need for concern. But if u for some reason start to feel different or pain, u should go back to ur Cardio ASAP! Good luck with everything!
