There is no ideal way to prevent a heart attack other than healthy living. It is unfortunately something we all could possibly have in the future due to unhealthy living among other things.

Genetic heart attacks r where u r predisposed to coronary artery disease. Biologically, cholestral builds up on the inside of ur major arteries & these r then covered over by plaque. This makes ur artery bulge outwards (Vessels r flexible but only to a certain limit), but as the cholestral accumulates, & more plaque is put on top, It starts to restrict blood flow (usually resulting in angina pectoris), as it gradually weakens, at some point they loosen off the wall & go up into ur heart where it blocks off one of the arteries suppling blood to the heart. Resulting in a MI. Theres a really good BBC documentary which shows CG l graphics of what happens over time to the blood vessel wall when plaque & chlosestral (can not spell too late :D) build up. And shows what happens inside the heart when it blocks off the blood supply & outside (VF). Also has a much better explaination than l have given. Have a check for the DVD, it really is one of the best documentaries i've seen for emegency situations & stuff.

Causes: generally a dodgy gene in ur DNA thats has been passed down to u that makes ur arteries clog up quicker than others.

Preventing it is the easy bit. Eat healthy, exercise regularly. And when u r in ur 40 is take an aspirin every day.
