im a 24yr old female. on birth control. for about 5 days now ive noticed nonspecific right calf pain, l dunno like muscle aches? maybe not. l had one of those horrible muscle cramps about a week ago.. but l always seem to notice the pain when im laying in bed and allllll l can think is that l have a blood clot in my leg which is gunna work its way up to my lungs/heart.

ive looked at so many websites which gives signs/symptoms of a blood clot, but how would l really know l had one? would l seriously have chest pain and cough blood or could it develop slowly like this-

should l go to the ER or will l be laughed at?

First of all, u might have answered ur own question. You state that u had a horrible leg cramp about one week ago. This could be a residual effect from that. Also, have u taking some ibuprofen on a regular basis to see if it goes away - it will probably help. Also, blood clots continue to get worse & worse, often exhibiting a warm spot with mild redness in the area that hurts. If u continue to get worse, see a doctor but more than likely, this is muscular in nature & u r worrying excessively over a worst case scenario.

If you have a blood clot, your calf would be warm, probably red, and tender. If you flex your food (try to point toes toward your head), it would cause pain.

A blood clot (DVT) in ur leg usually presents as warm, swollen, & very painful, with a positive Homan is sign (dorsiflexing ur foot causing pain).

l think u should eat more bananas for the potassium they have, that may help relieve muscle cramps.

If u did have a blood clot & it broke loose & became a pulmonary embolus, then u would have frothy pink sputum & chest pain.

If u r concerned then u should make a doctor is appointment.

No one in emergency would laugh at you. Everyone has given you good and correct information. If you want to have it checked out thats your choice and there is nothing wrong with that. Have you pulled on your foot yet? Unless you've been lying in bed every day l agree with everyone else.
