Having a heart attach is very painful. You prevent it by eating healthy and exercising. That way your arteries stay clear and your heart does not have to work harder.

Yes it hurts most of the time.
You should call an ambulance straight away.
You can prevent it by taking care of yourself. Eat well, exercise regularly and do not get stressed!

Yes it hurts. It is where blood is forcing its way through through a narrow artery. Ouch.
There is nothing you can do except call an ambulance. The only way to stop a heart attack is with clot-busting drugs and other artery-opening treatments.

l just had one. mine was not painful, everyone can feel it differently. prevent it bu eating good, exercising, and keeping the stress to a minimum. the chemicals your body produces under stress, or whatever your brain precieves as stress are very detrimental to you cardiac system .

my dad recently had a heart attack, he actuall yhad two within the space of twenty minutes, & he said he felt like it was his last breath so he just breathed in & realised the pain was passing.hes only 47 so that was pretty scary but hes okay (part from hes on like 60 million tablets)
ways to prevent it r keeping a check on ur chloestrol, plenty of excerise, not smoking, healthy eating all the obvious
if u suspect someone id having a heart attack DONT panic, loosen any tight clothing talk to them calmly & call for help

Yes, is it very painful, It should hurt near your heart, and in your left arm, you will feel short of breath. Just eat good foods, cut back on salt, eat things like oatmeal and cheerios- they lower cholesteral wich clogs your heart. And do lots of cardio workouts, it will make your heart nice and strong. When someones having a heart attack call 911 right away. CPR might be needed.

If u think someone is having a heart attack:
1. First thing, call 911. of course. 2. Or drive them in ur car to the nearest ER if that will be faster. 3. Do CPR if u need to. How to do CPR here: http://firstaid.about.com/od/cpr/ht/06_cpr.htm

heart attacks r often painful, but sometimes they aren't. some people have typical chest or arm pain, but others, especially women or people with diabetes, can have less typical sorts of pain. they might get an upset stomach, or back pain. if u ever suspect that someone is having a heart attack, call 911 immediately. one awesome thing u can do for yourself & those around u is learn CPR. it is something u can do for a person in cardiac arrest (not just a heart attack) until the ambulance arrives. the american heart association & the american red cross both offer inexpensive, thorough training classes.

Heart attacks can present as crushing chest pain radiating down one or both arms and into the jaw. Some people have what are called ''silent heart attacks.'' They are usually only discovered when a patient has an EKG at a later date.
If you discover someone in the throes of a heart attack call 911 and stay with them until help arrives.
Ways to prevent heart attack are to stay fit, eat well, and learn to cope with stress.

It is very painful. Call 911 immediately if you suspect that someone has a heart attack. Be aware that women have different symptoms than men while having a heart attack, therefore doctors miss it many times in women. Age is not a factor either.

Four of my six brother is had heart attacks sometimes in their lives. They say the pain is terrible. l have heard if you take an aspirin each day it will keep your blood flowing better. They say if you're alone and think you're having one to keep coughing really hard every few seconds. The best thing to do is to ask your doctor about ways to prevent heart attacks.

it can be painful or not too painful. the painful ones r easier to recognize by a squeezing pain in the chest or pain in the jaw, arm pain, sweating, shortness of breath, etc.
my heart attack felt like hot water in the center of my chest. fortunately, l dialed 911 & they were able to save me.
preventing it can range from eating a better diet low in fat & cholesterol, exercising, stop smoking, keep ing u weight down, monitoring ur blood pressure, etc.

Sometimes it is & sometimes there r no symptoms at all. A heart attack is not always fatal. There r also many levels involved regarding severity or level of damage to the heart muscle. The proper medical terminology for heart attack is myocardial infarction. As opposed to cardiac arrest, which can be caused by a heart attack. A myocardial infarction is most often caused by a blood clot getting stuck in one of the coronary arteries, preventing blood flow to a portion of the heart. When that happens, the patient begins experiencing chest pain as the heart starts screaming for oxygen. No blood, no oxygen. In addition to chest pain the patient can have a myriad of symptoms from sweating to tooth-pain. Women have the weirdest symptoms, the classic sign for female heart attack: low back pain. You can also have chest pain without having a myocardial infarction: angina pectoris. This is most often caused by a temporary spasm of ur coronary arteries & relieved with rest or nitroglycerin. What should u do if u ''think'' someone is having a heart attack? In reality just call 911. Stay with them & try to keep them calm. If it is a real MI, u wo not be able to. Use ur judgement: if u do not think it will tax them too much ask them if they have a history of heart disease. Take their pulse. Write it down. How does the pulse feel? Is it really bouncing under ur fingers? Or does it feel like yours when you're not playing amatuer EMT. Does it feel regular or irregular. If you're really brave get their age, allergies, time of onset, how does the pain feel?(stabbing, aching, tearing, crushing) any trouble breathing? does the pain radiate anywhere? Does the pain change when u press on the point of origin or when the patient breathes? Does anything make it better or worse? On a scale of 1/10 how bad is the pain? Has the patient done anything for the pain? Like taken a nitro or aspirin? WRITE ALL OF THIS DOWN!!!!! When the fire department gets there introduce yourself as witness or family member or whatever u r & start barking all of this information at the one in the lead(it will be the guy like me with the crazy look in his eye) Beyond this just be prepared to administer CPR. Be careful if u pull this off, u could wind up the rock star of ur neighborhood. Or worse yet, its Paramedic.
l almost forgot. How to prevent: Read everything u can about cheleation therapy. Find an exercise that u like to do & do it on a regular basis. Have a good woman by ur side. Go to a chiropractor. Set goals for yourself & achieve them. Buy a cat or a dog. You can get angry just do not be unjust with it. Give & receive love. And do not be afraid.Me & the other medics out there live & breathe for people in trouble. We gottcha.
