We have been told that my grandson, age 10, has a coronary anomaly. It is going into the muscle and is hidden. The dr is have never seen it before and therefore not sure what may occur or what should be done. Has anyone ever heard of this?

Not to be confused with the blood that is pumped by the heart, the coronary arteries supply blood to the heart organ itself. These arteries give the heart the nutrients & oxygen it needs to stay alive & functional.

From ur description is sounds like ur grandson has an extra coronary artery supplying the heart that is deep to the muscle fibers maybe. If the artery becomes obstructed, the area that it supplies will become ischemic & die. If it is an extra coronary artery, then the other coronary arteries may compensate for it if it is obstructed.

To be optimistic. Just imagine the thousands of people who live full lives without any problems who have similar undiagnosed abnormalities. Nature works in mysterious ways.

Coronary arteries going through heart muscle produces myocardial bridges over the arteries, producing transient obstruction when the heart contracts. But these are seldom of much problem as the blood flow through the coronary arteries occur mostly in diastole, when heart relaxes.
