l work in a electronic recycling facility and myself and several employees are all having similar symptoms. We deal with a lot of CRT monitors.

There is no lead in CRT glass, or in any consumer product nowadays.

A recycling facility should be supervised by OSHA, and have safety guidelines for its employees. If you really think there is a safety issue in your plant, contact OSHA. If you think there is a spreading health issue, contact an epidemiologist at your local board of health.

Only way (easiest) to be sure is to have u blood tested. Blood lead tests tell how many micrograms (millionth of a gram) of lead r in each deciliter (tenth of a liter) (ug/dl).

The OSHA maximum allowed in blood 49 ug/dl but there is no reason u should have more than 5.

And David above is incorrect. There r many products that contain lead in this country. ''hair dye, anything made of vinyl, make up.etc.etc.et. l could go on.

Well, there r two extremes in the first two , but l think both r wrong. There IS lead in certain kinds of glass including that used in CRT's, but it is so tightly bound that u r unlikely to be exposed to much, even with broken glass, unless it is ground up & dust in the air, & then l do not know. Just handling the glass objects wo not do anything. Besides, lead symptoms r not like u say.
Lead testing is simple to get & if u r concerned, ur doctor should be able to do a blood test at pretty low cost. l had a test included in my annual check up because l actually handle ingot lead & cast it occasionally.
The great risk of lead, & what it has been taken out of, is paint & gasoline where children eat the paint chips & all of us breath the fumes of leaded gasoline. Scraping & sanding old lead paint is a risky business & not cleaning up the dust in cracks & corners can cause problems.
